It looks like Abbott is going to have some stiff competition in next year’s primary. Honestly, I kinda hate this because I like both of them very much. I’ve always been a supporter of West and, for the most part, Abbott has a solid record in Texas.

They are both strong Patriotic Republicans. I happen to love Abbott, but West is a great leader, and has fought in our armed forces defending our country. He’s also a great candidate.
If I could vote in Texas. Which I can’t I live in Florida I would vote for Abbott At least we know where he stands 100% of the time Just like our Governor Ron DeSantis.
I agree. I’m a displaced Texan. Abbott has been good for Texas. Of course he’s made mistakes but Texas is a big state unlike some. A lot to govern. Who in the world thinks they are important enough that the Governor of Texas has time to talk to every citizen?
I am a life-long republican who has voted for Abbott in the past but would do so now only under extreme duress. His actions during the plandemic and inactions to push the republican party’s agenda during the legislative session render him as incompetent and not best candidate for governor. He is supposed to be a constitutional attorney but does not recognize the limitation placed on him by our Texas constitution. He completely ignored Texans during the February freezes and was not communicating with Texans concerns about ergot and their failures since then. In a word -a tyrant in charge! Failure to reopen our economy, failure to enact reforms pushed for by the Republican Party of Texas during the legislative session only to come out looking like he’s for Texas building the wall, stopping the criminal activity at the wall and helping our endangered citizens in the valley when he realizes we in Texas are seeing him as he is! I spent months attempting to call his office only to get unending ringing with NO ANSWER ever!
You and people like you are the reason Republicans have a hard time getting things done. Democrats don’t speak against themselves like we do. We are so critical of our own that we just keep losing. Sure he’s made mistakes but what Governor hasn’t and if you think West won’t you are living in La La Land.
