A petition has been filed in the U.S. House to expel Democrat California Congressman Adam Schiff.
The petition, from Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., cites his lies.
“Schiff lied to the American people. He used his position on House Intel to push a lie that cost American taxpayers millions of dollars,” she said. “He is a dishonor to the House of Representatives.”

Schiff, in fact, was one of the most dedicated and ardent promoters of the lies that created the now-debunked Russia collusion claims against Trump. Americans now know that the scheme was cooked up by Hillary Clinton and aided by partisans inside the FBI and Department of Justice, who investigated Trump for years without any credible evidence.
Schiff also was denied a House committee assignment in the current Congress because of his multitude of lies to the American public.
The Washington Examiner explained Luna filed the motion “in the wake of the Durham Report, which cast doubt on the idea that the FBI should have ever begun its Crossfire Hurricane investigation into allegations of collusion between former President Donald Trump and the Russian government during the 2016 election.”
The report confirmed, “Schiff pushed allegations of Trump-Russia collusion for years and played a major role in the first impeachment of Trump.”
Schiff responded with a claim that his lies were not the reason for the motion, but the fact that “I stood up to Donald Trump and held extreme MAGA forces accountable. Now they want payback.”
He claimed he was the one defending the “rule of law,” even though the agenda he was promoting, the FBI’s “get-Trump” ideology, violated multiple ordinary processes and procedures that were intended to follow the rule of law.
He’s fundraising right now in pursuit of a nomination to the U.S. Senate seat being vacated soon by Sen. Dianne Feinstein.
Luna, elected as the first Mexican-American woman chosen to represent Florida, is a member of the House Freedom Caucus and the Congressional Second Amendment Caucus.
Durham’s report concluded the FBI investigation into Trump’s 2016 election campaign, an investigation that Schiff repeatedly affirmed was supported by actual evidence he’d seen, was launched without “any actual evidence of collusion.”
Reports now confirm that while the Hillary Clinton-funded scheme to link Trump to Russia was being promoted by the FBI and DOJ, that scheme itself likely contained Russian disinformation itself.
Fox News reported Luna and other Republicans have expressed their hope that Democrats who pushed the false Russia collusion narrative – and in some cases still are pushing it despite the facts – should face consequences.
“The Durham report makes clear that the Russian collusion was a lie from day one and Schiff knowingly used his position in an attempt to divide our country,” Luna said.
Schiff has repeatedly claimed there is “clear evidence on the issue of collusion” between the Kremlin and Trump’s 2016 campaign. He also was a key player in one of ex-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s failed attempts to impeach and remove President Trump from office.
The Constitution’s path for removal of members is through expulsion, which requires a two-thirds vote.
