The next Obama? Look who’s suddenly touted as strongest Dem for president

U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has come up with some fairly unique positions on issues before Congress.

She’s claimed the fossil fuel industry is to blame for missing and murdered indigenous women.

She fled her own New York during COVID lockdowns to vacation in Florida.

She partied with the wealthy in a dress emblazoned with “Tax the Rich.”

She has claimed, “Latinos are black.”

She’s unleashed on Christians, wildly claiming during a House hearing, “It’s very difficult to sit here and listen to arguments in the long history of this country of using Scripture and weaponizing and using Scripture to justify bigotry.”

And she’s said global warming is so bad already that the earth only has a few years left.

So these claims make up the foundation of an agenda some Democrats suggest would be successful if she would be a candidate for president – against President Trump – in 2024.

It is David Hawkins at Slay News who explained some Democrats are calling for her to run for president in 2024 because they think she has the “best shot” against President Donald Trump.

The report explained the Democrats’ “bench” is so weak, that Kamala Harris and Pette Buttigieg are the “front-runners” now so “Democratic communications expert Michael Starr Hopkins, who served on the campaigns of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John Delaney,” sounded off on AOC as a candidate.

Hopkins likened AOC to Barack Obama he first won a Senate seat in 2004.

“Flash forward to 2018, and the meteoric rise of a 29-year-old bartender from Queens feels eerily similar,” Hopkins wrote. “She is a force to be reckoned with, and in 2024 Democrats are going to need her force to reckon with Republicans.”

He predicted she is the face of a rising progressive movement and the “future of the Democratic Party.”

“If Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) is the Godfather, Ocasio-Cortez is Michael Corleone,” the promotion by Hopkins said.

“Bernie passing the torch to AOC and recruiting her to run for president would be bold and would strengthen and solidify her base of supporters before she even gets out of the gate.”

Hopkins also noted a CNN poll has found that 75% of Democrats and Democrat-leaning voters don’t want their party to nominate Biden again in 2024, even though he claims to be committed to running.

Hopkins said, “There is no denying that AOC would boost GOP turnout as a result of coverage on right-wing networks built to scare elderly white voters. But she would electrify the party’s base, turn out the youth at record levels and bring the party together by acknowledging the threat posed by electing Trump Republicans.”

He said the nation needs “a leader who knows the price of gas, can tell you the cost of milk, and still remembers trying to figure out how she could keep the lights on.”
