WATCH: Democrat smokes weed in Senate campaign ad

Only days after smokable marijuana became legal under Louisiana state law – it’s still illegal under federal law – a Democrat politician has made an ad during which he’s apparently smoking marijuana.
Fox News explained it is Senate candidate Gary Chambers, who wants marijuana legalized at the federal level, who is “smoking marijuana in an outdoor leather armchair.”
He explains, “Every 37 seconds, someone is arrested for possession of marijuana. Since 2010, state and local police have arrested an estimated 7.3 million Americans for violating marijuana laws – over half of all drug arrests.”
His message continues, “Black people are four times more likely to be arrested for marijuana laws than white people. States waste 3.7 billion dollars enforcing marijuana laws every year. Most of the people police are arrested aren’t dealers, but rather people with small amounts of pot. Just like me.”

According to KPLC-Television, the “smokable” form of marijuana just became legal in Louisiana days ago.
As in other states where lawmakers have legalized it, without it being legal under federal law, there are many questions that have to be resolved.
Calcasieu Sheriff Tony Mancuso noted, in the report, “We have to be very cautious and very careful in how we navigate through this in the future.”
He said officers will be treating it as a prescription drug, so there continue to be limits.
“If you’re pulled over it’s gonna be like any other prescription drug. If you have just a loose pill, you can be arrested for that – especially if it’s a controlled substance. So, all medications should be kept in their original bottles, with the prescription, with the name of the person who the medicine is for in their possession.”
It also could result in a driving under the influence case.
“When a doctor prescribes something to you, there are certain medications that you can’t drive with, you can’t operate heavy machinery, and I would think that this would be labeled one of those drugs. As a matter of fact, I’m certain it is,” Mancuso explained.

  1. Government learned nothing from the failed alcohol prohibition, the only thing it did was create a network of organized crime throughout the country.
Today police departments have become increasingly more militaristic under the guise of the failed war on drugs, law enforcement officers are not trained to recognize that people have rights, the badge and gun go to their head and all this business about defunding the police is taking money away from training that is needed in the area of recognizing constitutional rights of the citizens that they serve. Research how the marijuana laws originated and I hate to do this because I hate this card in this case it’s true it was racism. Research it for yourself.

    • They are coming after ALL OF US. No matter the color. With low income whites it’s the same as blacks and with the wealthy it’s prescription drugs. They want ALL OF America on DRUGS, and DEPENDENT. That’s what it’s all about. Dependency on Government. All the rest is just a distraction

  2. This man also failed to admit that 15% (blacks) of the population commits 2/3 of all the crime in this country, and it’s getting worse.

  3. Maybe blacks are arrested more because our government allows drugs to flow into low income black and brown cities. You know, much like they are doing now at our border with fentynal? Look at every major dem run city. Drug addicts shooting up or smoking crack in the streets.there are “safe houses”set up where they can get syringes & drugs. Can’t people see how the government wants us dumbed down and depending on their handouts “taxpayers money”?
WAKE THE HELL UP AMERICA BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.
