What’s NEW? Biden Obstructing Oversight Investigation

The chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability said Monday that the White House is obstructing the committee’s investigations into Joe Biden’s mishandling of classified documents and the Biden family’s influence-peddling schemes.

“The White House is withholding over 82,000 pages of Joe Biden’s pseudonym emails, refuses to provide proof that Joe loaned his brother money, and now seeks to block the Bidens and former staff from testifying before Congress,” Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.)  wrote Monday on X. “@POTUS’s pledge to be transparent was just hot air,” he added.

During a recent appearance on Newsmax, Comer noted that Hunter Biden has until December 4 to appear for depositions before the committee under the orders of the subpoena. The chairman said that although Hunter Biden’s lawyers had initially seemed eager for Hunter to testify, the Committee has not yet gotten a reply on the subpoena.

The National Archives recently disclosed that Joe Biden sent or received up to 82,000 pages worth of private emails while serving as Barack Obama’s vice president.   The disclosure came late last month as part of a lawsuit brought by Southeastern Legal, the New York Post reported.

The trove of correspondence reportedly spanned all eight years of Biden’s vice presidency and included messages to or from three shadow email addresses: “robinware456@gmail.com,” “JRBWare@gmail.com” and “Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov,” according to a joint filing with the Georgia-based legal group.

“The fact that as vice-president, Joe Biden sent 82,000 pages of emails from alias email addresses is shocking,” Southeastern Legal Foundation General Counsel Kimberly Hermann told the Post.

“The American public has a right to know what is in those emails. SLF remains hopeful that now that we have confirmed that the emails exist, NARA will fulfill its legal obligation and produce them in a timely and transparent manner.”

On Friday, Comer announced that he had received a letter from the White House Counsel “making it clear the White House intends to continue obstructing our investigation” into Biden’s mishandling of classified documents.

Instead of fulfilling President Biden’s pledge to have the most transparent administration in history, the White House is withholding over 82,000 pages of emails where Joe Biden used a pseudonym when he was Vice President, refuses to provide proof that Joe Biden loaned his brother money, and now seeks to block the Bidens, their associates, and current and former White House staff from testifying before Congress.

“If President Biden has nothing to hide, then he should make his current and former staff available to testify before Congress about his mishandling of classified documents,” Comer said.
